This ordinance is part of the Mayor's PermitSF initiative, intended to streamline permitting and to help small businesses. The ordinance includes various Planning Code changes related to non-retail uses, glazing requirements for storefronts, sign requirements, and impact fees.

This ordinance would waive permit, license, and registration fees for new small businesses opening a commercial business in San Francisco. It also waives fees for small businesses expanding into a new location.

This ordinance allows tourist hotel and motel rooms to be used for Interim Housing for people experiencing homelessness, or at risk of homelessness, without loss of the hotel use classification.
