UPDATE: This ordinance is under review. The Planning Commission recommended approval with modifications on 10-17-24 and has encouraged coordination with the SF AIA.
Ordinance 240803 was introduced on 7-30-24 by Supervisor Melgar.
This ordinance would require the Planning Department to review all permit applications for potential illegal dwelling units. Design professionals failing to disclose the presence of illegal units would be subject to reporting to the state licensure board.
