How it all began…
A Bureaucratic-born Problem
Property Atlas was born from a real problem. Our founder, Serina Calhoun – a seasoned architect in San Francisco – once spent over three hours trying to find a parcel map for a density calculation in San Diego, only to come up empty-handed. As a result, she lost not only the opportunity and revenue but also the chance to support a long-time client.
This frustration grew when she realized she was spending over an hour every Monday manually tracking the status of every permit in her company’s pipeline. The constant interruptions from clients asking for updates throughout the week made it even more challenging.
Driven by a commitment to delivering the best possible service to her clients, Serina decided enough was enough. After nearly 25 years of navigating bureaucratic red tape and unexpected legislative changes, she knew there had to be a better way.
Moving Forward
Since that time, Serina and a team of industry pros have dedicated incredible time and resources to bringing the vision for Property Atlas to life. We are proud to bring our software to property professionals in the Bay Area so they can focus more on their projects and less on time-consuming paperwork.
