AB 2684: Extreme Heat Safety

UPDATE: This legislation was referred to the Committees on Local Government and Emergency Management on 3-4-24.

AB-2684 was introduced by Assembly Member Bryan on 2-14-2024.

This bill would require cities/counties to update the safety element of its local hazard mitigation plan to address the hazard of extreme heat upon the next revision on or after January 1, 2024. Upon the revision, local planning agencies would be required to update the housing element as needed.
