SB 1095: Cozy Homes Cleanup Act

UPDATE: This legislation passed the Committees on Housing and the Judiciary. The Committee on Housing approved on 3-20-24. The Committee on Judiciary approved on 4-4-24 and it has been scheduled for a hearing with the Committee on Appropriations on 4-15-24.

SB-1095 was introduced by Senator Becker on 2-12-2024.

This bill would expand the Department of Housing and Community Developments oversight for manufactured and mobile homes to include electric water heaters and electric heating appliances that are not specifically listed for use in these types of homes. It further sets forth requirements for replacement of existing appliances, including gas-fuel-burning models and listing requirements for other types of appliances in this type of home.
