UPDATE: This ordinance was reviewed by the Planning Commission on 8-13-24 and recommended to be disapproved. The Land Use and Transportation Committee approved it on 12-9-24, but the Board of Supervisors voted to send it back to Land Use for Re-Review on 12-17-24. Supervisor Walton requested this ordinance remain active on 6-25-25 until January 2026.

Ordinance 240641 was introduced on 6-4-24 by Supervisors Walton, Chan, and Safai.

This ordinance would amend the Planning Code to revise the definition of Laboratory to include Biotechnology. It would make Laboratory uses prohibited within the Urban Mixed Use (UMU) Zoning District.
