Ordinance 250799 was introduced on 7-28-25 by Supervisors Melgar, Sherrill, and Sauter.
This ordinance would eliminate size limits for commercial units within the following zones:
Castro NCD,
Pacific Ave NCD,
Polk Street NCD,
West Portal NCD,
North Beach NCD,
North Beach SUD,
Regional Commercial Districts, and
Residential-Commercial District.
The ordinance would also allows larger spaces to be divided into smaller spaces without conditional use, even if the reduced square footage is still in excess of planning standards.
