Ordinance 250608 was introduced on 5-30-25 by Mayor Lurie.
This ordinance is part of the Mayor's PermitSF initiative, intended to streamline permitting and to help small businesses. The ordinance includes elimination of DPW permit fees for programs outlined in Ordinance 250541. If approved the following projects would no longer require permit fees:
Cafe Table and Chairs in the public right of way.
Merchandise Displays in the public right of way.
Minor Street Encroachment for:
Elements attached to the building that extend no more than 4" into the public right of way.
Minor elements attached to the building and approved as part of a Building permit. Includes utilities, water spouts, standpipes, out-swinging doors, and security gates. Also includes ADA actuators and wheelchair lifts.
