APPROVED: Ordinance 250211: Concrete Building Seismic Safety

UPDATE: This ordinance was filed on 11-5-24 and was referred to the Budget and Finance Committee for review on 11-14-24. It was filed as Inactive on 1-30-25.

Ordinance 250211 was introduced on 3-4-25 by Supervisors Mandelman and Melgar. It was reviewed by all Committees and Commissions and approved by the Board of Supervisors on 5-6-25. The Mayor signed it into effect on 5-9-25.

This legislation creates a required program for all concrete buildings to be evaluated for seismic safety standards. Surveys of the properties and filings of reports to the city are required as part of this program, but any seismic upgrades made will be strictly voluntary.
