APPROVED: Ord 231079: Density Controls in Community Business Districts

Updated: Oct 16, 2024

UPDATE: This ordinance was approved by the Board of Supervisors on 3-5-24. The Mayor vetoed this legislation on 3-24-24, but the Board overturned the veto on 3-26-24.

Ordinance 231079 was introduced on 10-17-23 by Supervisor Peskin.

This legislation would limit density within the Northeast Waterfront Historic District, the Jackson Square Historic District, and the Jackson Square Historic District Extension. These parcels lie in a C-2 Zoning District which does not have a density limit. Within these areas, density would be limited to allowable height, bulk, setbacks, exposure, open space, and other Planning Code Requirements.

Projects utilizing the commercial-to-residential conversion program would be exempt from this limitation.
