Suspended: AB-704: Energy Requirements for Reconstructed buildings

Updated: Jan 5, 2024

UPDATE: This legislation was suspended on 5-18-23.

AB-704 was introduced by Assembly Member Jim Patterson on 2-13-23.

This Bill would reduce photovoltaic requirements on residential properties when properties are repaired, restored, or replaced if damaged or destroyed by a natural disaster in an area where a state of emergency was proclaimed by the Governor. It would only require photovoltaic systems as required at the time the residential building was constructed, not to current code.
