AB 1957: Public Contracts: Best Value Construction Contracting

UPDATE: This legislation was referred to the Committee on Local Government on 2-12-24. It was amended and re-referred to the Committee on 4-9-24.

AB-1957 was introduced by Assembly Member Wilson on 1-29-2024.

This bill would authorize any county in the state to utilize the Best Value Construction Contracting Method Program. Previously, the pilot program was restricted to Alameda, Los Angeles, Monterey, Riverside, San Bernardino, San Diego, San Mateo, Santa Clara, Solano, and Yuba counties.


Under this program, counties may award individual annual contracts up to $3M for repair, remodeling, or other repetitive work to be done according to unit prices.
