AB 1835: Affordability Requirements: Housing on Education Properties

UPDATE: This legislation was approved by the Committee on Local Government on 4-8-24 and referred to the Committee on Housing and Community Development on 4-9-24.

AB-1835 was introduced by Assembly Member Muratsuchi on 1-16-2024.

This bill would amend the requirements for affordable housing for developments on properties owned by a local educational agency. Previously a "majority" of units had to be set aside for lower income households. This bill would require "all" units of the housing development to be affordable to lower income households.
