APPROVED: AB 1620: Costa Hawkins: Tenants with Disabilities

UPDATE: This legislation was approved and signed by the Governor on 10-11-23

AB-1620 was introduced by Assembly Member Zbur on 2-17-23.

This bill would require property owners to permit the relocation of a tenant with permanent disabilities to an available, comparable, or smaller unit on the first floor of the building. Owners would be required to allow the tenant to retain their lease, terms, and rate of their lease.
