SF just loosened zoning rules in North Beach, Nob Hill, and Jackson Square with Ordinance 250682. It’s a move aimed at filling vacant storefronts and bringing more life back to these key commercial areas.

This ordinance relaxes limits on commercial use sizes in some NCD zones, eliminating the need for Conditional Use for larger businesses. It would also allow large spaces to be subdivided in all zones without conditional use, even if the reduced spaces exceed sf limits in that zone.
