UPDATE: This ordinance was filed on 1-20-26. It passed the Committees on Environmental Quality and Appropriations on 4-22-26.

SB-899 was introduced on 1-20-26 by Senator Grove and is Co-Authored by Senators Alvarado-Gil, Dahle, Jones, Niello, Ochoa Bough, Richardson, Seyarto, and Valladares.

This bill would require the task force (created by Governor Brown) to assess health costs and impacts of high-severity wildfire smoke in cooperation with the Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment and the State Department of Public Health.
