SB 834: Homeownership Bond Act

UPDATE: This legislation is currently under review. It was passed by the Senate and introduced to the Assembly, but no action has been taken since July 12, 2023.

SB 834 was introduced by Senator Portantinoe on 2-17-23.

This bill would create a bond fund for distribution to qualified applicants for use as a down payment or to pay closing costs on the purchase of a new home. This bill would also provide loans to developers for installation of infrastructure improvements and other upfront costs.
