UPDATE: This legislation was approved and signed by the Governor on 10-11-23.

SB 423 was introduced by Senator Wiener on 2-13-23. (it is also co-authored by Senator Hurtado and Assembly Members Wicks and Grayson)

This bill would allow the Department of General Services to review streamlined permit submittals for development on properties owned or leased to the State. Also, it would eliminate the requirement for prevailing wages on some projects and instead would set alternate wage/labor standards. Finally, this bill would give authority to the Planning Director to approve development projects which are consistent with "objective standards."
