APPROVED: Residential Foreclosure Modification

UPDATE: This legislation was approved by both chambers on 8-30-22 and sent to the Governor for signature on 9-12-22.

AB 1837 was introduced on 2-7-22 by Assembly Member Bonta.

This bill would modify residential real property foreclosure laws. It expands eligible tenant buyers to include natural people who are occupying property under a rental or lease agreement. It would also allow eligible non-profit corporations/LLC’s to be eligible bidders as well.
