APPROVED: Housing Innovation Program

UPDATE: This legislation was introduced on 11-30-2021 and was approved by signature of the Mayor on 8-4-2022.

Ordinance 211232 was introduced on 11-30-21 by Supervisors Melgar, Mar, Mendelman, and Safai.

This Ordinance creates a new Housing Innovation Program, administered by MOHCD including:

  • Providing grants to promote the program and inform residents about the opportunities.

  • Providing loans and technical assistance for low-income and moderate-income property owners to construct ADU's or other new units on their property.

  • Providing down payment assistance loans to low-income and moderate-income tenants for the acquisition of a residence by licensed childcare providers or certain at-risk tenants.
