UPDATE: This ordinance was filed on 7-1-25. It was approved by Land Use and Transportation on 12-15-25 and has been routed to the Board of Supervisors for final approval.

Ordinance 250719 was introduced on 7-1-25 by Supervisors Mahmood, Sauter, Sherrill, Melgar, Dorsey, and Chen.

This ordinance would eliminate limitations on the number of unrelated people living together. Previously, this was limited to 5 unrelated people, creating an opportunity for violations to be issued for large units with multiple roommates.

Limitations would be eliminated on residential uses, as well as group housing, recovery/treatment facilities, elderly care facilities, and other residential facilities.
