Massage Establishments Revised

UPDATE: Approved and went into effect 1-23-22.

Ordinance 210381 was introduced on 4-13-21 by Supervisor Ronen. Also sponsored by Supervisors Mandelman and Preston.

Modifies the requirements for Massage Establishments including:

• Add Sole Practitioners to Health Services

• Regulates massage establishments consistently with Health Service requirements.

• Eliminates the three-month abandonment period for nonconforming uses

• Prohibits Personal services uses for three years anywhere a massage establishment was closed because of a violation to the Planning or Health Code

• Eliminates the exception from conditional use for massage operators in their dwelling unit.
