SB 9 was introduced on 12-7-20 by Senators Atkins, Caballero, Rubio, and Wiener.
This bill requires proposed housing developments with 2 residential units in single-family residential zones be approved ministerially, without discretionary review or hearing.
This bill also requires local agencies to ministerially approve urban lot splits in single family residential zones. It would also eliminate public hearings for coastal development permits in these projects.
