Inactive: HOT: AB-1193: Property Records Redacted

UPDATE: This legislation has been inactive since 3-24-23.

AB-1193 was introduced by Assembly Member Pacheco on 2-16-23.

This bill would require property address, home address, assessor parcel number, and property legal descriptions to be redacted from public records and would only allow access to an unredacted report in person at the city/county records offices. Copying of any documents would require property owner permission.


Unredacted reports would only be made available to financial institutions, title companies, attorneys representing a client in specific matters, consumer reporting agencies, and real estate licensee's.
