UPDATE: This legislation was approved by both chambers on 8-25-22 and sent to the Governor for signature on 8-31-22.

AB 1738 was introduced on 1-31-22 by Assembly Members Boerner and Horvath.

Requires development of, and changes to the Building Code in the next cycle (2024) to include requirements for installation of electric vehicle charging stations in existing multifamily dwellings, hotels, motels, existing school buildings, and existing non-residential buildings during specified retrofits, additions, and alterations.
