Updated: Sep 16, 2022

UPDATE: This legislation has died. The first hearing scheduled on 3-28-22 was cancelled at the request of the author.

SB 1369 was introduced on 2-18-22 by Assembly Member Wieckowski.

This bill would make adaptive reuse projects a use by-right in all areas regardless of zoning. “Adaptive reuse projects” include any commercial, public, industrial, or office building which is converted into a housing development project.

Agencies cannot require conditional use, or discretionary city/county reviews and cannot require more parking than the amount of on-site parking for the existing building.
