APPROVED: AB-342: California Architects Demographic information

UPDATE: This legislation was approved and signed by the Governor on 9-22-23.

AB-342 was introduced by Assembly Member Valencia on 1-31-23.

This Bill would require licensed architects to complete a form identifying their race and gender.

If approved, this ordinance would make changes to the thresholds for sale price and qualifying income for some BMR units.

This ordinance would automatically go into effect if Proposition 33 passes requiring rent control on properties built up to 1994.

If approved, this ordinance would allow non-licensed designers to work on some Assembly, Business, and Mercantile projects.
