AB-1847: Wildfire Mortgage Forbearance

UPDATE: This ordinance was filed on 2-11-26. It passed the Commission on Judiciary and Commission on Appropriations on 4-22-26.

AB-1847 was introduced on 2-11-26 by Assembly Member Harabedian and Co-Authored by Assembly Member Irwin and Senators Allen and Perez.

This bill would extend the period of mortgage forbearance from 12 months up to 36 months for borrowers impacted by the Eaton Wildfire, Palisades Fire, or Straight-Line Winds Fire. The forbearance period would be expanded to January 7, 2029.
