AB-1693: Accelerated Tenant Improvements

UPDATE: This legislation was introduced on 2-3-26. It was approved by the Committee on Local Government and Business and Professions on 4-21.26. It has been routed to the Committee on Appropriations.

AB-1693 was introduced by Assembly Member Zbur and Co-Authored by Assembly members Alanis, Gonzalez, Solache, Wallis, and Wicks on 2-3-26.

This bill would require streamlined approvals for tenant improvement projects with a retail use. It would require approval or denial within 20 business days of receipt of a complete application and limit the timeline for review of resubmittals to 10 business days.
