SB 956: School Facilities: Design-Build Contracts

UPDATE: This legislation was approved by the Committee on Education on 3-20-24. It was approved by the Committee on Appropriations and is scheduled for its third reading.

SB-956 was introduced by Senator Cortese on 1-22-2024.

This bill would extend the law allowing school boards to enter into design-build contracts for public works projects in excess of $1M, when awarded to a bidder with the low bid or best value. This program was scheduled to end on January 1, 2025, but would be extended indefinitely by this legislation.
