SB 1227: CEQA Exemptions: San Francisco Downtown Revitalization Zone

SB-1227 was introduced by Senator Wiener on 2-15-2024.

This bill would exempt housing development projects within the downtown revitalization zone of the City of San Francisco from CEQA requirements. Prime contractors and subcontractors would be required to provide an affidavit, under penalty of perjury, related to the skilled/trained workforce on the project.


This bill also expands property tax exemptions known as "welfare exemptions" to include properties owned by religious, hospital, scientific, charitable funds/foundations, LLC companies, or corporations, and veterans' organizations where the property is used exclusively for rental housing and related facilities serving moderate-income households.
