SB 1187: Tribal Housing Program

UPDATE: This legislation was approved by the Committee on Housing on 4-3-24 and is set for a hearing with the Committee on Appropriations on 4-15-24.

SB-1187 was introduced by Senator McGuire on 2-14-2024.

This bill would create the Tribal Housing Grant Program to be administered by the Department of Housing and Community Development. Funds would be allocated for affordable housing projects, services, and management. Funds would need to be allocated within 3 years from the date of the agreement and expended within 5 years of the date of execution. This program would be implemented for a 5-year period beginning January 1, 2025.
