SB 1077: Coastal Permit: ADU Exemption

UPDATE: This legislation was referred to the Committee on Natural Resources and Water, and the Committee on Housing. Amendments have been made and it was re-referred to the committee on 4-1-24.

SB-1077 was introduced by Senator Blakespear on 2-12-2024.

This bill would clarify that accessory dwelling units (ADU's) attached to an existing residential structure, and the conversion of an existing structure into an ADU or J-ADU are exempt from coastal development permits.
