HOT: SB 968: Regional Housing Allocation

UPDATE: This legislation failed to pass the Committee on Housing at the first hearing on 3-20-24, but is allowed reconsideration.

SB-968 was introduced by Senator Seyarto and is Co-Authored by Senator Ochoa Bogh, and Assembly Members Alanis and Waldron on 1-24-2024.

This bill would allow the the council of governments or delegate sub-region to consider counting prior overproduction of housing units in a city/country from the housing needs allocation and to credit it toward future regional housing needs in the next cycle.
