AB 2831: School Facilities

UPDATE: This legislation was approved by the Committee on Education on 3-21-24. It was then referred to the Committee on Appropriations.

AB-2831 was introduced by Assembly Member Hoover on 2-15-2024.

This bill would require the State Department of Education to create the Office of Small School Facilities and Construction to provide assistance and guidance to small school districts about evaluation/utilization of existing facilities, needs for new schoolsites, facilities, and rehabilitation/replacement of existing facilities. In addition, this Office would provide assistance and guidance on funding resources and processes for the construction and development of school facilities.
