AB-2059 was introduced by Assembly Member Flora on 2-1-2024.
This bill would prohibit a landlord from being liable for dilapidations/untenantable premises unless they have received written or oral notice and are given a reasonable time to repair the conditions. Landlords acting within 30 days will be presumed to have acted within a reasonable time.
