UPDATE: This legislation was referred to the Committee on Utilities and Energy on 2-12-24. It was amended and re-referred to the Committee on 3-7-24.

AB-2008 was introduced by Assembly Member Wallis on 1-31-2024.

This bill would require the State Energy Resources Conservation and Development Commission to establish and implement the "Reliable Energy Needs for Everyone in the West" program to provide financial incentives for purchase of renewable fuel sources to customers in high heat climate zones where combustion fuels continue to be the lowest cost/most effective means of space/water heating.

This program would require funding approval by the Legislation.
