SB 955: Grants for Infrastructure Projects

UPDATE: This legislation was approved by the Committee on Local Government on 4-4-24. It has been referred to the Committee on Appropriations and is scheduled for a hearing on 4-15-24.

SB-355 was introduced by Senator Seyarto on 1-22-2024.

This bill would require the Office of Planning and Research to establish the Infrastructure Gap-Fund Program to provide grants to local agencies for development and construction of infrastructure projects. The Office would be authorized to provide funding for up to 20% of a project's total cost. To qualify for funding, local agencies would be required to raise 10% of the funds for the project from local taxes.


Funding of this bill is contingent on approval by the Legislature.
