SB 1182: Master Plan for Healthy, Sustainable, and Climate-Resilient Schools

UPDATE: This legislation was approved by the Committee on Energy, Utilities, and Communications on 2-21-24 and by the Committee on Education on 4-3-24. It is scheduled for hearing by the Committee on Appropriations on 4-15-24.

SB-1182 was introduced by Senator Gonzalez on 2-14-2024.

This bill would require the State Energy Resources Conservation and Development Commission to develop a Master Plan for Healthy, Sustainable, and Climate-Resilient Schools on or before March 31, 2026. The commission would be required to consult with specified state agencies and engage with a diverse group of stakeholders and experts. Criteria for the elements included in the Master Plan are also outlined in this legislation.
