APPROVED: AB 1449: CEQA Exemption

UPDATE: This legislation was signed and approved by the Governor on 10-11-23.

AB-1449 was introduced by Assembly Member Alvarez on 2-17-23.

This bill would allow the lead agency to determine CEQA compliance, rather than another public agency. Upon determination that a project is exempt from CEQA the lead agency would file a notice of exemption with the Office of Planning and Research and the county clerk.
