UPDATE: This legislation was placed into suspension on 5-18-23.

SB 405 was introduced by Senator Cortese on 2-9-23.

This bill would require city agencies to notify property owners if their site was included on the housing inventory as part of a planned development for housing growth.


Where city agencies learn from owners that they do not intend to develop at least 80% of the housing identified for their site, agencies would be required to update their housing element.
